Summary
- No account — we do not collect email, name, or login credentials.
- No cloud backend — we do not upload your pet profiles, care records, or photos to our servers.
- No ads or tracking — we do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- You control exports — backup files are created locally and shared only if you choose.
1. Who We Are
MyPaw (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a pet care journal app for iOS developed and published by the developer of MyPaw. For privacy inquiries, contact vortexgamesplay@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you enter in the app
You may store the following data locally on your device:
- Pet profile information (name, species/category, gender, birthday, adoption date, breed, notes)
- Care records (deworming, bathing, weight, dates, notes, medicine names)
- Photos and captions you import or capture for pets, records, milestones, or avatars
- Reminders and notification schedules you configure
- Milestones, achievements, and app preferences (theme, celebrations toggle)
This information is stored using Apple’s on-device frameworks (including SwiftData and the app sandbox). We do not receive copies of this data on our servers.
2.2 Information we do NOT collect
- No user accounts or authentication data
- No precise location data
- No contacts, health kit, or payment card data within the app
- No browsing history or cross-app tracking
3. Device Permissions
MyPaw requests the following iOS permissions only when needed:
- Photo Library — to import photos for pet avatars, album entries, and care records. You choose which photos to share via the system picker.
- Camera — to take a photo for a pet avatar. Only used when you tap the camera option.
- Notifications — to deliver local reminders for upcoming care tasks. Notifications are scheduled on-device; we do not use remote push servers.
You can revoke permissions anytime in iOS Settings.
4. Widget & App Groups
The MyPaw Home Screen widget reads a small summary (pet name, companion days, next reminder) from shared on-device storage via an Apple App Group (group.com.wxm.MyPaw). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
5. Backup & Export
When you export a backup, MyPaw creates a ZIP file on your device containing JSON and photos. If you share this file via AirDrop, email, or cloud storage, that transfer is governed by the service you choose. We recommend treating backups as sensitive personal data.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall MyPaw. Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to iOS system behavior and any backups you created separately.
7. Children’s Privacy
MyPaw is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will assist with deletion steps on the device.
8. International Users
Because data is stored locally on your device, cross-border transfer by us does not occur. If you use MyPaw while traveling, your data remains on your device under your control.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will be revised, and significant changes may be noted in App Store release notes. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your region (including GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because MyPaw stores data locally and we do not hold copies on our servers, you can exercise these rights directly by viewing, editing, exporting, or deleting data in the app, or by uninstalling the app.
